The future is looking bright for solar! With four-junction solar cells achieving 46% conversion efficiency, the world can harness more of the sun’s energy. The solar capacity factor was the lowest in January at 16.8%. In order for the U.S. to transition to only solar, there is still a long way to go to balance the grid when the sun does not shine.
